What is CanvasTools?
CanvasTools is a Chrome browser extension built for users of the Canvas LMS (learning management system). Canvas LMS is owned by Instructure but CanvasTools has no affiliate with Canvas or Instructure. CanvasTools allows users to easily send messages to peers, customize their learning environment, and it adds additional features to Canvas.
CanvasTools itself is not an open source project and is created and owned by JCZ Studios. This repository is for developers and Canvas administrators who want to implement certain features of CanvasTools. The CanvasTools API allows your institution to do things such as send messages, display notifications, and more on the clients (students/users) behalf. The CanvasTools API is secured so only Instructure subdomains (https://*.instructure.com) have access.
