I am on popos with awesomwm, the live wallpaper isn't set to the desktop but played inside a window that only remains in one window.
Is this expected behavior?

Hi @parz3val, it's all depends on how _NET_WM_DESKTOP (desktop window) handling is implemented.
Tiling WM tends to not follow the specs strictly, and that doesn't work with Hidamari.

In brief, awesomwwm (and probably most if not all tiling WM) is not supported, sorry :\
