error "line too long" when I send a gpx attachment

If I attach a gpx attachment, I got the error "line too long".

The SMTP-Server smtp.1und1.de generates the following two error messages:
Der Postserver 'smtp.1und1.de' hat auf den Befehl '
.' falsch geantwortet:
501 Syntax error - line too long
Der Postserver konnte den Befehl nicht ausführen und antwortete mit einer Fehlermeldung.

Die TCP/IP-Verbindung mit Server 'smtp.1und1.de' wurde während des Kommandos 'RSET' unterbrochen.
Vermutlich hat Ihr Verbindungspartner abgebrochen.

500 5.6.1 Line too long. / Zeile zu lang.
Der Postserver konnte den Befehl nicht ausführen und antwortete mit einer Fehlermeldung.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Unpack the attached zip file, attach the gpx file to a new email and send it.
I tested the MIME-Typs text/plain, text/xml and application/octet-stream. With all of them the error appears.
