Summary

bit.ly Branded Short Domain (BSD) transfer

Background

There is a setting in bit.ly to use a BSD to replace the bit.ly portion of the link however they talk about making sure it points to a couple different IPs and if it's a subdomain to set a CNAME for our DNS... out of my league.

Details

On looking into it I found that my new bit.ly has 1 free BSD I can assign but that BSD needs to be purchased from a 3rd party registrar like GoDaddy. I don't know if maybe you bought it with the ccmc.pw server alias but it may be as simple as redirecting it to the IP's for my account and then me adding the BSD instead of it being on yours. Let me know if you need the IPs I have for mt BSD setup.

Outcome

I'll be able to generate fancy looking links for people to click in chat XD

@InfiniteCorners Given our last discussion, do you want to set up a new BSD with your personal account? I can create a new subdomain (e.g. l.ccmc.pw) for shortened links and point it to wherever Bit.ly asks you too from your account.

This is now done. @InfiniteCorners' Bitly account is set up with a Branded Short Domain as l.ccmc.pw.
