Rejected formats

The following configuration file formats were considered for support by cfgurate but were rejected. This post acts as a reference for the reasons why.

• CORN (libcorn) — Does not have a serde Serializer
• INI — The only serde library for this format I could find was serde_ini, which has terrible type support
• XML — No one should be writing configuration files in XML these days. That's just cruel.
• DHALL (serde_dhall) — Requires dedicated customization of the serialized type in order to support serializing empty lists, empty Options, and enums
