Kalkulus v2.8.0 Mandatory update

Kalkulus client last version is now available from: https://github.com/kalkulusteam/klks/releases
This version release include a fix for a potential vulnerability plus other small bug fixes, as reported in changelog.
To perform update:

• download and replace the new client version
• backup your system folder
• Launch the new client
  Protocol will be enforced the 18th of February, after that date all 2.7.0 peers will be disconnected from network.

Changelog 2.8.0:

• Fixed "Stake Spent Vulnerability" bug that allow to a potential attacker to fill disk/memory
• Fix OSX GUI deployment
• Fixed Governance Budget rewards allocation
• Fixed some small typos
• Updated protocol version to 80013

Bootstrap

To speed up the process of syncing your Kalkulus wallet with the blockchain, you can use a KLKS official and updated bootstrap that contains the latest blockchain information needed to have your wallet synced and up-to-date. Simply download the file bootstrap.zip in your klks system folder and unzip the content. The file contains folders Blocks, Chainstate, and the file peers.dat, that should replace your original files and folders. Remember: Always backup your files and folders before making any deletion, overwriting or other changes.

ADD NODE

To get an updated and recent node list, go to the following link and click on "node list": https://chainz.cryptoid.info/klks/#!network Copy the table contents and paste it into your klks.conf file, save and restart the wallet.

Mandatory Update

This is a mandatory update due to an exploit that allowed to an attacker to mint more coins than designed in POS rewards table.

With this release we forked the old chain at block height 70815, and we did a rollback to that block. All clients running an old wallet version on the old blockchain will be rejected.

Users updating from a previous version will require a full resync of their local blockchain.

This is a mandatory update due the switch from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake, including masternodes capabilities and other functions.

With this V2 release, older versions of Kalkulus clients will not be longer supported.

How to Upgrade

All older versions of client based on proof-of-work will be discontinued after the release of V2.5.1.

If you are running an older version, please shut it down. Wait until it has completely shut down (which might take a few minutes for older versions), then download right version for your operating system.
