Is it possible to rename a shared folder to include/remove someone for access?
For example, Alice and Bob are in a music group together and are sharing lyrics. Randy joins their band, so without doing a major overhaul they'll do mv /keybase/private/alice,bob /kaybase/private/alice,bob,randy.
Hi @foxiae, sorry for the delay. We don't support adding users to folder names after the fact; you'll have to explicitly move all the data to a new folder.
The reason is that the security of the folder is derived from the name of the folder being explicitly provided by the user/application. If the name of the folder can change while someone else is writing to it, the security guarantees change and it's not clear what to do with the writes.
However, we will be supporting named groups at some point, which will allow users to be added and deleted after folder creation. Not sure exactly when yet, though.
