In this example, it would be great if we could just click on one of the classes/colors from the list displayed in the upper right corner. The idea is to highlight the samples belonging to that class, such that the ones that do not belong to the class will have a much lower opacity (higher transparency).

I think this is out of scope for this library. Altair does not support this directly and the goal of this library is really just to offer a simple overview. If you believe it is an easy implementation because Altair supports it then I may consider it though. Closing for now.
