Change the copy icon

Seems like you're using a paste icon instead of a copy one.

And It would be great to add a paste too, so we won't have to open an image via File > Open etc...

The icon should represent copy to clipboard, that is what we do. What icon would you expect?

Regarding the paste, that's another question, when we add paste, it won't be to add the background but more to add another image on the existing background. Opening background images will probably still be done via file option or we will add another button for it on the main menubar

I usually see the current (red arrow)one as a paste icon in most app.
