The most common installation location in linux is, /usr/local/bin. It's easier to copy-paste the snippet with actual values rather the whatever-path everytime.

Hi @rewanthtammana. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a kubernetes-sigs member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work. Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I understand the commands that are listed here.

Instructions for interacting with me using PR comments are available here. If you have questions or suggestions related to my behavior, please file an issue against the kubernetes/test-infra repository.

@neolit123 I think the builds are failing for wrong reason. I made changes to the documentation but they are failing due to CSI volumes, etc in pull-kind-e2e-kubernetes-1-24. Can you please suggest what changes are required?

/override pull-kind-e2e-kubernetes-1-24

Thanks for the PR, sorry for the test flake noise.

Since we've split out mac vs linux, this makes sense per linux FHS, one comment about permissions.

All instances should be updated. There are at least lines 75 and 82 in this file and lines 74 and 81 in site/content/docs/user/quick-start.md

Line 74 is for Mac & line 82 is for windows. I'm not a user of macOS/windows yet; hence I'm not sure of their default preferred locations. So, I made changes only to Linux installation.

we can leave discussion on changing those for a different PR, IIRC macOS SIP makes it more problematic to suggest installing to system folders vs a user local folder added to path (like ~/go/bin)

Sounds like a plan! There might be considerable discrepancies regarding macOS & windows default install locations.
