MacHack VI

Lars Brinkhoff edited this page Aug 12, 2023 · 3 revisions

MacHack VI is Richard Greenblatt's chess program. It was the first computer program to play chess in human tournament competitions and be granted a chess rating. For instructions, see CHPROG; OCM ORDER. You can enter moves in descriptive notation, or type PW to have the computer play a white move, PB to play black, or PS to automatically play itself.

Type :games;ocm to play the newest version. If you run it from a Knight TV, it will display a chess board.

There is also an older version :games:c which can draw the chess board on a Type 340 display. Type FANCYTAB2Enter to get the fancy chess board.
