Moonlander

Moonlander is a game for the GT40 written by Jack Burness to demonstrate the capabilities of the display. It's based on the earlier text-only game Lunar Lander. The program can be found in the GT40 directory. It can be loaded with GTLOAD, or run directly on a PDP-11 emulator with support for the GT40 hardware.

To play the game, a PDP-11 emulator configured as a GT40 is necessary. One can be started along with ITS with the command ./start gt40. A separate window should display Connected to the KA-10 simulator DPK device. When ITS has booted, it should say KA ITS 1651 IN OPERATION. In that window, type ^Z and log in as the user GT40. Type GTLOAD^K, which should display a * prompt. Enter the game file name as GTLEM BIN and Enter. The game takes a long time to load — several minutes — so be patient!
