Hi,
We were very excited to find out about this project.
After installing and trying it out it seems like fixkeys only changes the keys for the SDSF panels.
We're using ISPF 7.4.

can you please provide the steps to recreate the failure?

Thanks

btw. if you see a bug in the code please let me know and I can try to fix it or you can provide a fix if you find something.

Hey,
To reproduce:

  1. Change PF2 to SPLIT in - main SDSF panel, main ISMF panel and ISPF Command Shell (option 6 from main ISPF).
  2. Run FIXKEYS, change PF2 to START.
  3. PF2 in SDSF changed to START, while it remained SPLIT in ISMF or ISPF command shell.

Keylist for main ISMF is DGTKEYS, in DGTPROF. Keylist for ISPF command shell is ISRSAB, in ISRPROF. Both of these appear on the "Updated ISPF Profile Members" list after completion.

Thanks for this tool!

In your ispf configuration what is your setting for: USE_KEYLISTS

Use TSO ISPCCONF and then 1 then 4 and scroll down a bit

USE_KEYLISTS is selected, so ON.

When in the on position the KEYLIST(S) coded on the various ISPF Panels are honored.

It would appear I need to update my doc on the use of FIXKEYS.

I know of no way to override the defined KEYLIST.

So if we change it to OFF and recreate ISPPROF, FIXKEYS should be able to take over all panels?

Once you turn it off then fixkeys should be able to run and make the change permanent for those users. You may have to have each user run fixkeys in case they have their own, updated, profile in their ISPPROF PDS.

you can try it by updating the ISPCCONF load module in your ISPLLIB or STEPLIB before rolling it out to everyone.

I have just updated the $README and created a README.md with the above info.

Thank you!
After disabling keylists, FIXKEYS seems to change keys of every panel I visited.
The only one I still have issues with is SDSF EDIT, which seems to use ISFEDKEY.

  1. Open SDSF -> ST.
  2. Issue SJ near a job, should open up an edit screen.

interesting - not sure how to fix that one - it may be unique to SDSF SJ as I noticed it wasn't updated and when I changed the keys to something else, the keys changed, but were not remembered. That may be worth opening a PMR with IBM SDSF about if you need that (I don't have the ability to report problems)

I think we'll use it as is and pray SDSF SJ is the only one that has this issue. I think we can close this issue.
Thanks for this tool and the quick responses!
