This plugin seems to do some conversion on Youtube links, the Youtube backend does not like.

INFO     Searching Youtube for query 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWwNgVwQG1A'
INFO     Need 11 character video id or the URL of the video. Got //youtube:video/Logicoma - Elysian (Final version).rWwNgVwQG1A
ERROR    YoutubeBackend backend returned bad data: Expected a list of Track, not [None]

Thanks for your report! Could you please add some information about mopidy and mopidy-youtube versions? I'll try to reproduce the bug.

Ah maybe the steps to reproduce: I have an empty mopidy library. In the search box I enter a video URL (in my case https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWwNgVwQG1A). Then the title of the video shows up in the results, along with a green play button. I click that button and in the web interface everything looks fine at first, but it doesn't actually play and I get the errors in the mopidy terminal log as shown above.

Thank you very much, I'm trying to solve this issue.
Have you tried to just put a title instead a URL in the search box? Have you ever managed to play one music from youtube with mopidy-party?

Oh boy, I just tried. I searched "bad to the bone" and selected "George Thorogood & The Destroyers - Bad to the Bone (With Lyrics) (5:07)". This time I get more error messages:

I successfully reproduced this bug with some songs, this might be related to natumbri/mopidy-youtube#68

I solved it with

apt remove mopidy-youtube
pip install youtube-dl
pip install mopidy-youtube
