The LFE docs site needs a major overhaul, as discussed on the LFE mail list and in various tickets on Github. This work has the overall vision:

  • Provide a usable site-generating infrastructure (tools and procedures) for docs contributors
  • Produce a clean, easy-to-navigate site that is the single source of truth for all LFE docs, regardless of where the bits actually live.
  • Maintain versioned docs so that those who are stuck using older versions of LFE and/or Erlang are supported (to the extent that docs existed when their chosen version was released).

To do this, a great deal of work is necessary. The major categories of this work are represented by the tickets listed below, each with their own tasks and/or supporting tickets:

So, technically, v2 was a separate project that never really went anywhere (other than a lot of CSS hacking). That's got its own repo. So a new repo was created, v3. This, however, was actually forked from docs v1, so once the new version is complete, it can be merged back in. Maybe.

Anyway, this is just a note explaining why v2 was changed to v3.

Planning epic is mostly done now. There are some outstanding tasks, but only a few and nothing that really stands in our way.
