I'm pretty sure any gamified situation can cause (something like) an addiction. FWIW, hiding scores (or other elements) should be rather simple using user styles/scripts. In the browser, anyway. |

I created a Firefox extension to remove all stuff harming the pure chess experience: https://github.com/mymindwentblvnk/mental-health-mode-for-lichess You can install it via https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mental-health-mode-for-lichess/ It is not as advanced as it should be, but the main functionality is present. |

Hi there,
I want to propose a new feature: Mental Health Mode. In this mode every information is deactivated that is stressing your mental health. Some things I am already thinking of:
I love playing chess but the more I play the more I just play for my rating. Everyday I have to gain more points. A day with a negative rating makes me feel sad. If I lose I want to play another game, even if I know that I am not concentrated enough to win. It sometimes feels like gambling addiction.
So being able to measure my rating makes playing chess more stressful than relaxing. I just want to play chess again but with being able to see my history in times, where I have better mood.
What do you think of this idea? I love Zen Mode and Kids Mode for what they are doing and they inspired me to propose this idea.
