There are 3 related locations:

runtime/bin/MAP-regionuuid.png
var/maptiles/someuuid.jpg
var/maptiles/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000/map-?-xpos-ypos-objects.jpg

Removing the first does clear it form the worldmap. What the other two are, is a mystery to me.
