I wrote this for something else:

The current Representative System is probably the best available option in a world without reliable & widely accessible digital technology. But now that the vast majority of people have smartphones in their pockets at all times, we could do a little better. Modern technology has greatly improved so many industries, such as how we get from one place to another (Uber), how we stay connected with friends (Facebook), and how we entertain ourselves (Netflix). It seems silly to imagine it couldn't seriously upgrade our democracy.

Just putting here since they're the same topic, in case it's useful.
