As the gcc-sh-elf maintainer for Debian, I would like to point out that SuperH support is important in the free software ecosystem for embedded applications. AR9170 wireless adapters have libre firmware that can be built with an SH-2 cross compiler (that's what we're about to do in Debian), and furthermore most if not all of the patents have expired, which makes it an appealing platform to build on.
Extended Description
gcc offers a SuperH (sh) target. it also looks like one was partially implemented by francisvm in the past...
https://github.com/francisvm/j2-llvm
It would be nice (tm) if llvm also could synthesize code for the SuperH SH-2 processor.
