Incorrect Projections for Portugal #242

Looks like a problem in Geotools EPSG Databases: Since uDig is using this stores we should fix it in GeoTools, maybe @aaime or even @jodygarnett can help here |
Is uDig using a supported version of GeoTools? |
It was reported for uDig 2.0 which uses GeoTools 14.1 The latest change was Upgrading EPSG database to version 8.6 for 13.0 series. I assume the issue is still valid althought the version we use isn't a supported version |
Then I guess another upgrade of the EPSG module is needed? Contribution to GeoTools welcomed :-) (sorry, I'm don't want to be insensitive, but there is a reason why the EPSG has not been upgraded in a such a long time, lack of time). |
Looks like there several newer releases are available (latest is 9.1 whereas GeoTools includes 8.6) However, my impression is that TOWGS84 isn't available in epsg 9.1 either whereas requested missing parts are available online via http://epsg.io/20791 I assume we have to wait for another EPSG Release, would you agree? |
Looks like current version of EPSG database has TOWGS84 set. maybe its a solution to overwrite epsg code using e.g. epsg.properties as an workaround in between |
Anyone willing to contribute a fix for this issue? Otherwise I'll close it and waiting for newer EPSG databases from GT. |
Newest geotools released today includes an updated EPSG database.

The following CRS (on uDig projections database) do not have the necessary TOWGS84 parameters:
This cause a displacement of 200-300 meters in Portugal mainland.
It is also necessary to provide the equivalence between the following ESRI projections:
Please refer to: http://epsg.io/
Warning: DO NOT use http://spatialreference.org
Please find attached samples of Portuguese projections.
