[v3] Support Lifetime

Hello there,

The question is not related to any specific known problem.

We are currently trying to evaluate vee-validate for our project. We have a relatively old project, which is still using vue 2. And upgrade the project from vue 2 to vue 3 in a short time span is not possible. Thus, if we want to use vee-validate, then we have to stick to the latest v3 version, which is at the moment 3.4.14.

However, we don't know whether vee-validate 3.x will be supported in the future. Especially when there is a security issue, will there be an update for the v3 branch of vee-validate?

I personally think, once it is possible, it would be great to have an official announcement in the documentation, mentioning the lifetime of the v3 support. I believe this will also help other people, who is stuck with vue 2, but still considering to use vee-validate 3.x.

To answer your questions:

We don't know whether vee-validate 3.x will be supported in the future.

In terms of features/enhancements v3 is no longer receiving those since I'm mostly focused on v4 at the moment for Vue 3. However, for breaking bugs and security issues I would be able to patch those.

I might be biased, but I think v3 is at a good place at the moment with sufficient support for most needs as I no longer receive any kind of feedback or enhancement requests for the better part of 2 years now. So I would say it is a safe bet to go with, still, I would check other solutions like vuelidate before I commit to a decision.
