Let's say we have an application with those files:

  • .folder/
  • .folder/config
  • .folder/cache/

Problem:

  1. .folder is linked by mackup v1
  2. user upgrades mackup to v2 that does not link .folder anymore but only link .folder/config
  3. user need to mackup uninstall with v1 on all his workstations before being able to use v2

This is problematic, not sure how to handle this, opened to ideas.
Should we switch to a more explicit file selection format? e.g. glob?
