Status not showing initially

In the latest Obsidian update v1.4.11, when opening new notes, the plugin's status bar is not showing anything.
The user has to go in edit mode (if defaulted to reading) then click anywhere in the file to show the status counts.

No error is shown in the devtools to debug.

I am on windows desktop. Another plugin called "reading time" did not suffer such an issue after the update.
