"Linked from" for images: only text links recognized, no files embedded in galleries or embedded as picture

The "Linked from" filter of PetScan's "Templates&Links" form currently seems to behave inconsistently. It doesn't recognize a link to a file if an image is linked inside a gallery or if the file is embedded using the "File:" prefix. The feature only works for text links to images, e.g. ":File:xyz.jpg".

Example: PSID 28323171 (should return images from :c:Calendar, ignores files embedded or inside the gallery, recognizing only the text link.

It would be great if PetScan would also recognize gallery images as well as images embedded in other pages - similar to the "File usage on Commons" section on the File description page.
