First of all, I don't have much experience with all these stuff. I'm trying to connect Obsidian with GitHub on Android. I cannot clone the private repo whatsoever. I've been roaming here, in this repo searching for an answer. I deleted the ssh key that I had previously generated in the month of January. I've idea why does it exist either. It's not my pc, so I deleted the key and generated a new one from Git Bash on PC which gave me 2 files namely: id_ed25519.pub and id_ed25518. I tried adding these two into the SSH keys in the app settings, both of them hidden. I manually added them and the app flagged it as corrupted. I renamed the file to .png, it downloaded the repo.
Is this the normal behaviour? I've no idea.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • OS: LineageOS 19.1
  • App Version 1.6.2

The issue is likely due to #620 as LinageOS 19 is based on Android 12. So yes it's expected behaviour to need the work around to name the ssh key as a png file, due to the restrictions being imposed by the OS. The only other current work around is to obtain the latest version from F-Droid which has the "All Files" permission enabled.

Got it, .pub is unsupported as of now by the app. I've to add id_ed25519 directly.
