Hi Markus,
first of all: great work done. I'm impressed.
Right now I'm looking around to bring together my several RPis to one "HomeAssistant-Device" and regarding my PV-Project (running solaranzeige and vzlogger on RPi to read out the energy counters and the inverters) I found your great work. I found several solutions which I now been testing.
My wish: could you add a sentence to your readme that it is an add-on which installs an additional docker container including vzlogger software to run on the existing HA hardware and that the reader equipment (i.e. IR-reader) must than connected to this HA hardware? This would it made easiere to identify wether your project fits the needs one looked for. For you it is clear, I write from the perspective of a person who looks around to get light in the jungle :-)

thank you a lot for your Issue. Sorry, that I answer so late - it's just a hobby that I made public to the world. But it's really interesting, that it's used by people.
You are free to contribute to this repository - just fork it, write some Readme, create a pull request.
Maybe in december I will find some time to refactor this and write some documentation... maybe :-)
