When installing a new version of VATprism, the program does not remember/know the location of the current installation. It would be a great comfort-item to avoid users having to manually browse/find/select that path every single time an update is available.

This isn't really possible right now for Windows as the packaging suite I'm using (jpackage with WiX) does not allow custom paths to be set.

Can't you create a text-file in AppData\Local\VATprism with information about the installation path? The updater/installer would then look for this file and if it does not exist, it will resort to the standard path.

I could, unfortunately I have no way to pass this information to the installer with jpackage.
