Marco+compton: compton keeps crashing

Expected behaviour

compton should decorate windows

Actual behaviour

it does for a while then crashes with the output:

~$ compton
compton: ../../src/xcb_conn.c:215: write_vec: Assertion `!c->out.queue_len' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

I've never tried compton, but we'd need to know whether the issue is in marco (which we maintain) or compton(which we do not).
