Environment: Surface Book with Screen Resolution: 3000 x 2000
Setting: MATE Desktop Session AUTO scale desktop widgets in 200% (the default setting for Ubuntu MATE)
Problem: Mouse Pointer in MATE Desktop Session is not scaled up after login, showing an extremely tiny-size mouse icon.
Workaround: By running marco --replace few seconds later after MATE desktop is fully prepared, the mouse pointer size becomes good.
Actual behaviour
Mouse Pointer in MATE Desktop should show 200%-size icon instead of unscaled icon.
Steps to reproduce the behaviour
In any Ubuntu between 22.04 - 24.04:
Choose a High Screen Resolution Laptop.
Log out MATE session to fall back to lightdm-gtk-greeter session;
Log in MATE session, the whole desktop widgets expect mouse pointer are scaled to 200%.
