Assuming #8456 was what led to the breakage(?), then the issue was introduced in v1.21.0.

I really don't see why this would be more of an issue in v1.21 TBH, so I'm slightly hesitant to say this is fixing a regression 🤷

I was able to reproduce it occasionally by running sytest and restarting postgres half way through (sometimes multiple times). After this patch it always seemed to recover. |

As I said in my comment on the issue: The logs were fine afterwards, but message sending still didn't work.. I can try to get some more detailed description out tomorrow if it's any help to you.. |

The SyTest continued to be able to send messages afterwards, as per #8574 (comment) a tcpdump would be useful |

adbapi.ConnectionPoollet's you turn on auto reconnect of DB connections. This is off by default. As far as I can tell if its not enabled dead connections never get removed from the pool.Hopefully fixes: #8574
