When you publish a post, the timestamp gets set as if your time zone were GMT---so in my case, at -0400, the timestamp gets reset to four hours earlier.

Since this used to be twice the offset, I've made progress, but there's obviously still an issue with timestamp settings that needs to be fixed up.
