Is requiring java 8 preview too much of a hurdle?

I'd love to use and incorporate lambdas and sequence operators (aka "aggregate operations") right now.
It'd make things so much more concise and also open up for a more powerful API, as it'd be more declarative.

But maybe too much atm?
