Somebody said in another issue that it's caused by (UTF-8) character code which windows doesn't know or can't handle.
Also decoding data from previously recorded samples doesn't work. It doesn't display the expected output. It acts like almost if the sample is corrupt and unable to decode data from it but it isn't as it works fine on linux. Data sample recording appears to fine however on windows.

With Oregon Scientific sensors on windows the output looks like this:
Thermo Sensor THN132N, Channel 1, Battery: Ok, Rolling-code 0xA1, Temp: 7.0°
C 44.6°F
