Area(s) with issue?

FancyZones, FancyZones Editor

Steps to reproduce

I have two monitors connected,

  1. The built-in laptop screen, resolution 1920x1080, refresh rate 60Hz
  2. A Samsung external UHD screen, resolution 3840x2160, refresh rate 29Hz.

I use the extend display option to use both screens as separate display. I tried to create custom fancyzone using the fancyzone editor.

  1. When I click the fancyzone editor, the grid or canvas can't be dragged all the way to the end of the big screen.
  2. The screens are not being displayed as two different monitors in the fancy zone editor, the resolutions added up and displayed as single big display.

✔️ Expected Behavior

  1. I should be able to create zones separately for each monitor and use it.
  2. The fancy zone editor will detect multiple monitors.
  3. I should be able to use the full real estate on the both monitors.

❌ Actual Behavior

  1. The zone editor doesn't detect two screens, but display both of them as one screen with added resolution of both.

  2. The added up single screen also doesn't let me use the full screen space, there was an empty column at the last, I can't expand a zone past that column to occupy or maximize it. (the black rectangle in image)

Hi, sorry to see it's not working as expected.
I assume both displays use 100% scaling? I see you have the setting "allow zones to span across monitors" checked? This setting can cause unexpected behavior as it creates a big rectangle that encompass both monitors. Try un-checking it and let me know if that helps.

@Jay-o-Way Thanks, unchecking that box helped me achieve what I wanted to do. Sorry for the confusion, my bad.

Thanks for taking your time checking this and thanks for the wonderful powertoys. I'm closing this as my original issue is solved.
