Description of the new feature / enhancement
The Mouse Highlighter feature should have a toggle setting so that it is on by default. Currently, on start-up of the computer, the Mouse Highlight functionality is off. To have it on permanently, one must turn on highlighter mode with the hotkey every start-up.
Scenario when this would be used?
I need a way to differentiate between right-click-drag-operations and left-click-drag-operations. Mouse Highlighter can be used for this, but only if it is always on.
The touchpad on many laptops do not have dedicated buttons for left and right mouse click; instead, they have buttons beneath the touchpad. This becomes a problem, especially during drag operations, as there is no visual indicator in Windows whether the right or the left mouse-button was pressed.
In applications like Windows Explorer, dragging files with left or right mouse buttons does completely different things, and dragging with primary (left) when one wanted to drag with secondary (right) can have big consequences. For example if one moves files instead of copying files out of a folder which is being watched for changes.
Supporting information
Here is a screenshot trying to illustrate how there's no indicator for left or right mouse-button-drag-operations: Link. Only through the Mouse Highlighter color can one tell that this is a right mouse-button-drag-operation.
