[FanzyZones] add an ability to choose a default layout #19516
Comments
Good idea! |
oh hey, I was just looking for this! does this also relate to the default layout going back to the three-pane when restarting windows? or is there a "default layout" setting I'm missing for that? |
Restarting windows doesn't return my layout to the default three-pane for me, I'd assume it's an issue on your end. |
+1 on this feature request (surprised it's not in already, tbh) This is extremely handy in situations where hot desking in large corporations/offices means a new monitor almost daily, so being able to say "use my custom layout each time as default" would be a huuuuge help |
Seems to be added in v0.64.0. |
Description of the new feature / enhancement
You should be able to set a layout as a default one such that if a new monitor is added, it will use that layout.
Scenario when this would be used?
I use a multi-monitor setup on my laptop, and sometimes when disconnecting / reconnecting displays, it will reset the display's settings (seems to be an issue with Windows not having a reliable way to identifying monitors). In that case, my fancyzones layout switches to the default layout, which I have to change manually. Adding a way to choose a default layout would solve this issue, as well as allow users to not have to change their fancyzones settings when adding a new monitor.
