README.md

These are the Home Assistant configuration files used in the a Home Automation project.

Installation Process

I'm currently running Home Assistant version 1.5.0 'Autumn Bump'. My preferred installation method is Hassbian. I used [https://github.com/home-assistant/pi-gen/releases/download/v.1.5.0/image_2018-10-27-Hassbian.zip]

After downloading the disk image and writing it to an SD card with Etcher, I run all commands in Putty.

I also use HASSCTL which allows for some of thsee super simple commandline shortcuts for starting, stoping, upgrading, and debugging HA.

hassctl update-hass
hassctl start
hassctl stop
hassctl error
