How did you get KyotoCabinet installed? It doesn't seem to be actively maintained and is currently nonfunctional.

Thank you for your question!

Although unofficial GEMs are not actively maintained, original KyotoCabinet (KC) is well-maintained.

At first, download the newest KC from the following site, compile and install:
http://fallabs.com/kyotocabinet/pkg/

Next, download official Ruby binding from the following site (find the newest) and install:
http://fallabs.com/kyotocabinet/rubypkg/

Ah ok thanks for the help. I don't know Ruby (yet) -- can you perhaps post some simple install instructions for your gem? I'm pretty sure I got all the required bundles install but don't know what to do next given the avsummary download.

edit: or is it not necessary to compile into a gem and I can just use the .rb scripts directly?
