Core and version: Gameboy_20211107.rbf
ROM: Donkey Kong (World) (Rev 1) (SGB Enhanced).gb, NO-INTRO, MD5: 4859ec2b18c4fabf489eb570c1d7d326

Issue: after defeating the final boss and watching a cutscene, the credits roll. As can be seen on multiple videos online, there's music that plays during the credits. Running on Gameboy_20211107.rbf, however, the credits are completely silent.

On this video (and on others), you can see that the music starts playing at the end of the cutscene where Mario lifts Kong, and it continues playing during the credits. The song never starts on the MiSTer core.

Settings are all on default. All other music in the game seemed to play normally.

I have a savestate right after defeating the final boss for testing; after loading the save state, a cutscene should play with sound, but the music never starts at the end. However, 90% of the time the game is frozen after loading the save state, but sometimes it works; I don't know why (edit: I think it freezes if "Super Game Boy" is set to "On"; I managed to restore the state with it set to "Off"). I also have a savegame, but it requires playing the last 4-5 levels and defeating the boss before getting to the ending. I attached both to this issue in a zip file.

Let me know if there's anything else I can test or change to see if the music plays.

I just ran the same rom on mGBA and the music also didn't play, so I doubt it's the MiSTer core at fault. Sorry about that, I'll check if the Rev 0 rom fares any better. I'll close this issue and reopen if I find anything specific to the MiSTer.

Edit: I tried the same rom but running with Super Game Boy set to "Off" and it worked. I found some information on a Wiki that the credits song of this game is "enhanced" on SGB, so it probably uses the SNES sound if it detects the SGB, supressing the original song.
