Steps to reproduce:

  • Add a custom icon to the keepass database.
  • Create a template entry and set the icon to custom icon nr 1.
  • Create a new entry, switch to the Template tab and click Set Template Parent.

Expected:

  • The template entry is shown in the dialogue with custom icon nr 1.

Actual:

  • The template entry is shown in the dialogue with standard icon nr 1.

@svenssonaxel this is a pit non-obvious to fix. I get your flow, in theory the best way is to use the add new entry template drop down (click the drop down arrow on the key icon in the toolbar). This is the native template support and does what you describe. I have some reservations about changing an entries icon when you later set the template parent, as what if it already had the icon you wanted? I don't want to override that. I could maybe do it if the icon is default? but in theory some people could want that. The second may be the best approach to get what you want.
