Terrific idea, combining ace-jump-mode with multiple-cursors.
Just curious if you're planning to support avy as well since it's basically a better ace-jump-mode and under active development. It seems most people are switching or have switched to avy.

Great point.
I haven't looked too much into avy yet as I mostly still just use ace-jump.
But I'll definitely take a look and see what will need to be done.
Thanks!

I'd love to see this for avy. Any updates on that or more concrete plans?

Hey there!
I briefly took a look at adding multiple cursors through avy. Seems like it isn't terribly hard to do. I made a small command that adds a multiple cursor with avy-goto-word-1, so that's encouraging.
And I've now been using avy for a while instead of ace-jump, because the latter seems to have problems when you're using pdf-tools.
Would you want avy support to be achieved in the same package or different one?

Hi! Great that this idea might interest you. Perhaps you include it in the current package, and make it slightly more general? Who knows what movement package we're gonna use in a couple of years ;-)

Hey again, sorry for the slow updates. Things have been pretty busy. I'm still working on it, and currently trying to figure out how to get multiple cursor overlays to display above avy's "dimming" overlays when displaying candidates.

In the meantime, there's a pretty easy way to add a single multiple cursor directly using avy by just modifying avy-dispatch-alist. I show how to do this in my .emacs in commit mm--/dot-emacs@08821dc (the rendered org version is here).
