in the libpng 1.6, they claimed the old hp srgb color profile has problem, the old HP sRGP profile has a bad whitepoint and they're trying to do away with it. So is it possible the creast_sRGBProfile create the new v4 or any good version of the SRGB color profile.

Is is very easy, Just use cmsCreate_sRGBProfile() and then cmsSaveProfileToFile(). The profile you obtain is a V4 sRGB profile with no issues on white. D50 is used as this is a display profile, CHAD tag to D65 is populated.

Otherwise you could use the sRGB variants from the ICC site http://www.color.org/srgbprofiles.xalter
