Anton Haumer and I are currently developing the quasi stationary version of the fundamental wave (electric machines) library. This library will neglect any electrical transient but fully considers the dynamics of the mechanical and an externally connected thermal network. The major developments are already done. We are now fixing bugs, include documentation and enhance simulation examples. The new library will enhance the MSL. It will enable fast simulations of electric machines and drives over longer simulation periods and reduce model complexity. Yet, advanced loss effects are accurately considered. The new quasi stationary and the transient fundamental waves library will be parameter compatible.

It is planned to include the new library as Modelica.Magnetic.QuasiStationary.FundamentalWave. The actual development repository is located at https://svn.modelica.org/projects/Modelica_ElectricalSystems/QuasiStationaryFundamentalWave/trunk/QuasiStationaryFundamentalWave/

@ Dietmar: For tracking the bug fixing process: could you please add a component _Modelica_QuasiStationaryFundamentalWave or similar in the Modelica Trac system. Thanks.

Maybe #1189 should be considered here.

Mind, in order that a new library can be included it should also be publicly visible on https://modelica.org/libraries for some time. I think we were talking of something like at least 6 months. I can set up a mirror of the svn repo location to GitHub so it appears on the website.

@ Christian, if you could prepare a README.md similar to https://github.com/modelica/Modelica_Synchronous/blob/release/README.md and simply put it on the trunk/README.md level in the subversion repo, that would help.

Done.

I agree but it depends on the version of the MSL that this library will be included. I.e., if that version is one with conversion script that also this new library should be included with the more correct Modelica.Magnetic.QuasiStatic.FundamentalWave name. Otherwise it should be changed together later on.

I agree, we should change QuasiStationary to QuasiStatic. The package naming for inclusion in the MSL shall be Modelica.Magnetic.QuasiStatic.FundamentalWave.

I only now see that there wouldn't be a name conflict with the other "QuasiStationary" library under Electrical. So in that case we could introduce the the new sublibrary already under the new more correct name Modelica.Magnetic.QuasiStatic.FundamentalWave. I suggest to update the name of the package "QuasiStatic.FundamentalWave" to before I set up the mirror which get's linked from modelica.org/libraries.

PS: Mind, this makes only sense if also the other "QuasiStationary" libraries are going to get renamed to "QuasiStatic" in the future of course.

  1. We will introduce Modelica.Magnetic.QuasiStatic.FundamentalWave. I will rename the package on the Modelica SVN. @ Dietmar: Could you please change the name of the component. Thanks
  2. We will switch from Modelica.Electrical.QuasiStationary to Modelica.Electrical.QuasiStatic in a future release of MSL. This will then require a conversion script so it will be major MSL relase. I will make a note in Rename of Electrical.QuasiStationary to Electrical.QuasiStatic #1189.

MapLib decided to include this library; thus the location of the library and name are OK.

Library is included in trunk such that it can be compiled into MSL 3.2.2
