Sync problems with OSSC? #90
Comments
To update: I was reading around this issue on other forums and wondered if it might be due to custom resolutions in the menu screen. I just loaded up Chrono Trigger in the SNES emulator, and my OSSC 'found' the sync once I'd entered the game itself. It would still be amazing to know more about exactly why this happens on the RBG-Pi menu screen, and if it could be fixed, but I'm happy that at least SNES emulation is working! EDIT: Looks like I was too quick. It did find sync once, but once I quit the game, and tried another I've lost sync on the OSSC, and it can't seem to find it again. I'd love to know if there are any ways to get this working reliably! |
Okay. A final comment from me on this in case it helps future users. I was relying too much on the OSSC's automatic scanning for inputs. If I manually set the OSSC to the correct input and mode (using the remote control) then it manages to find the sync eventually. It is still quite unreliable, though, so I would be interested to know if there's any way to improve this. I imagine the OSSC must somehow be taking too long to recognise the sync that's there with the settings in RGB-Pi. I can confirm this as working for me now. |
I have an odd problem with my Pi4 setup, using an RGBerry SCART hat.
When I connect to my Sony PVM, RGB-PI works perfectly. When I connect to the SCART input of my OSSC, however, it doesn't sync -- the OSSC just keeps scanning endlessly.
The odd thing is that I'm dual booting my Pi with a standard Raspbian setup with this SCART hat, and that syncs fine with both my PVM and the OSSC. (It also works through a SCART splitter that I use to have simultaneous output to the CRT and the OSSC.)
Any idea why RGB-Pi isn't syncing with the OSSC?
