We have an adapter that developers can use to do payments via navigator.mozPay() in a way that interacts with their own server as opposed to the Marketplace server. This should be documented here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Marketplace/Monetization/In-app_payments_section/fxPay_iap

The Marketplace is currently the only known implementer: https://github.com/mozilla/fireplace/blob/master/src/media/js/payments.js
