I tried to start a workflow which attempted to use

mpi_processes: 8
threads_per_mpi_process: 2

The run produced the following message

Failed to start the simulation:
Multiple threads per MPI process is not supported yet. Please make an issue on GitHub.

As instructed, I'm opening this issue on github ...
