I think there's a bug where it identifies tel:654654 as URL

This is not a bug: it supports most forms of URLs and URIs, including schemes like mailto: and tel:. If you want to limit to just HTTP, see the "matching scheme" API or flag. Another option you have is to filter the results yourself.
