Hi I am attempting to compare two instances of my accounts spreadsheets, one in xls and the other in xlsx format. After a couple of seconds the program exited with the message "Diff failed: Cannot get a text value from a numeric formula cell". Thbe sheet does contain formula cells whose result is text. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Hmmm .. let me see. Any chance you can attach your sheets if possible (dummy data would do)?

Hmm ok I think I managed to fix it. If you can send me your sheets i can verify if it works. Any case I'll cut a new release by tonight after adding some test cases.

Thanks for reporting this.

Unfortunately each workbook contains about 15 worksheets and each sheet is about 120 rows by 40 columns and which area is causing the problem is uncertain. The current data is my small company accounts, so I cant give out the real data. But I will test anything you release, if you release a cut tonight, I'll check it out tomorrow morning. and by the way thanks for responding so quickly.

Cheers,
Chris
