Paperclip + S3 + button in the bottom bar to upload. Should be easy enough.

  • Any example UX implementations that you're fond of?

  • How should these images be inserted into a post? All together at the top/bottom, or throughout the post?
  • Should images be scoped to a post, or kept all together in a single library?

Drag-and-Drop into the article?

This would be awesome, but I'm afraid moving in that direction would turn this into a WYSIWYG editor.

What if you had an drag and drop upload box at the bottom of the editor? Drag an image onto the box, we upload it to S3 with paperclip and then paste the correct markdown tag at the bottom of the editor? Too complicated?

Here is an example of HTML5 drag and drop uploads -- http://html5demos.com/dnd-upload

I'm working on an upload button right now. Should be simple enough, but not sure when I'll find the time to finish. I'll give an update eventually. We can worry about the fancy DND stuff after.

Am working on this for the new version... not much in place yet though so it may be held off for a later release.

Closing this even though it's not in yet. Check out the refresh branch if you'd like to help with finishing it.
