Is it possible through the browser to:

  • extract publication-quality images? or does this need to be done with separate scripts?
  • extract information about how the data were manipulated via the app? In other words, is it possible to track analysis provenance/methodology without talking to the person who spun up that specific browser?

I have code stubs to implement exporting figures ready to go. I think this falls in priority right after vetting that we have the right visualizations. We also need to vet that the labeling and expressions are accurate and sufficient.
For the second point I think we need to "watermark" some sort of meta-info into the image. I think the curator is responsible for creating sufficient context. OUr responsibility is to make sure it is obvious a picture is made that does NOT have minimally sufficient documentaion behind it.

  • enumerate minimally sufficient data provenance / meta-data for a data-set.
